This is one of the few non fiction books I've read cover-to-cover without simply dipping here and there.As a spinner/weaver I was thoroughly intrigued by all the processes involved and how their craft work related to their Shaker spirituality. Naturally enough I felt a renewed interest in the simplicity of approach to these tasks and... This is a pretty boring book, although the writing is fairly readable. It's two steps above an endless series of lists. I'd say above all it lacks an arc of interpretation. Still, if these subjects are interesting to you, it's worthwhile.
